Yeah... Good ole bob Menendez stepped in big poo again, except this was a sudden arrest and search of his house. That generally tells you it's an actual case the DOJ (or any other LEA) wants to win and doesn't need a circus to do it.

(CNN) —New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez was charged on Friday with corruption-related offenses for the second time in 10 years.

Menendez and his wife, Nadine Arslanian Menendez, are accused of accepting “hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes” in exchange for the senator’s influence, according to the newly unsealed federal indictment.

Prosecutors allege the bribes included gold, cash, home mortgage payments, compensation for a “low-or-no-show job” and a luxury vehicle.

This is the second set of corruption charges levied against Menendez by the Justice Department in a decade. He previously fought off conspiracy, bribery and honest services fraud related to alleged personal favors.

Menendez is up for reelection next year. He has been in the Senate since 2006.

Senate Democratic Caucus rules will force Menendez to step aside as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, but he can still serve on the panel.

CONCLUSION: A huge difference between the two parties is that Democrats have morals and the Republicans utterly lack any.

But you know the normal suspects will make up some sort of BS to protect this POS. Think about it. Being a powerful Senator and using that position of trust to sell information to a foreign country.

NEW YORK -- A federal grand jury in New York has returned a sweeping indictment against United States Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., chairman of the powerful Foreign Relations Committee.

The investigation focused on a luxury car, gold bars and an apartment allegedly received by Menendez and his wife, Nadine Arslanian. His wife was also indicted.

The indictment charges Menendez, 69, and his wife with having a corrupt relationship with three New Jersey businessmen -- Wael Hana, Jose Uribe and Fred Daides.

The indictment accuses Menendez and his wife of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes in exchange for using the senator's power and influence to seek to protect and enrich the businessman.

"Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value," the indictment said.

Prosecutors accuse Menendez and his wife of corruption, including using top Democrat’s power to influence policy to benefit Egypt. (Read the full indictment. #4)

I'm sorry. This is all over the news. WTFO? Did I call you're bluff about what you wanted to say?

-OR- you can't 'splain a lying, cheating scumbag within your midst's.

Now that Sen. Menendez is being prosecuted for serious financial crimes that punctures a hole in Trump's and his MAGA supporters' claim that there is a two-tier justice system that punishes Republicans but excuses Democrats.

And in the end... they both get off scot free.

You actually think these are "just" financial crimes? OMFG, how great it would be to be soooooooo naive!

He sold information on what the US government knew on other nations to a hostile foreign nation. Egypt, who once was a semi friendly nation, is now "owned" by the Muslim Brotherhood. Or haven't you been keeping up on world affairs for the past 15 or 20 years? The "Brotherhood" is a radical "Sunni" sect tied closely to the Wahhabism of Saudi Arabia. They're the one's that demanded the murder of Khashoggi in 2018 for speaking "against God."

They're so radical, After the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak in the Arab Spring protests of 2011, the group’s political arm won a plurality of seats in Egypt’s lower house of parliament and its candidate, Mohammed Morsi, was elected president. But Morsi was ousted by the military in July 2013, and the Brotherhood’s members were imprisoned, went into exile, or were forced underground. As part of a wide-ranging crackdown on political opposition, the Egyptian government has labeled the group a terrorist organization, as have Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The point is, No one can control them. But you like them.

"But you know the normal suspects will make up some sort of BS to protect this POS." -olde dude

Well thank goodness I am not one of them! Who was it that you were thinking of, olde dude?

Lock that corrupt criminal asshole up and throw away the key. I hope the bastard gets decades. A person like that has no business being a senator or holding any elected office at all. Abusing power for personal gain is not the job they are elected to. I don't give a flyingfuck what political party he belongs to.

Oooo! There's another big difference between the two parties!

(I'll put it on the other thread...)

I don't see any disclaimers. At all. None.
And with your examples, you didn't give anyone a chance to disavow anything you said. I gave two examples of dims doing atrocious things. Like the Boebert incident where I was not at choice (mostly because of the sweeping generalizations). I'm only using your rules. Ergo, Suck it up buttercup!

    Y'know. This is sucker-born-every-minute territory.

    If ever there's proof it's a uniparty, it's here.
